Viettel AI (Viettel Data Service and Artificial Intelligence Center) is the unit directly operating this supercomputer system to research and develop Vietnamese AI models.

The B200 supercomputer system delivers performance of up to 1.5 ExaFLOPs FP8, equivalent to 1,500 quadrillion operations per second. It is currently one of NVIDIA's most advanced high-performance AI systems, attracting significant interest and early orders from major tech giants and many nations, as it serves as the key infrastructure determining AI development capabilities. However, due to factors such as export controls, supply constraints, and strategic conditions, not every enterprise or country can easily access this platform.

Viettel’s investment and operation of the B200 supercomputer system come as Resolution No. 57/TW-NQ of the Politburo identifies the requirement to master national strategic technologies, including Artificial Intelligence. As the nation’s flagship technology corporation, Viettel is deploying the most modern, high-performance computing infrastructure, ready to meet the demands of large-scale AI development in Vietnam and enabling the establishment and operation of core domestic AI infrastructure.

On this platform, AI systems can be developed and deployed securely and reliably, in compliance with Vietnamese laws and tailored to local practical conditions.

Mr. Nguyen Manh Quy, Director of Viettel AI, shared: 'Putting the B200 system into operation is not just an investment in computing infrastructure; it is a strategic move for Viettel to build sovereign and trustworthy AI capabilities for Vietnam. On this foundation, Viettel can develop AI technologies that serve Vietnamese people and businesses, while partnering with the Government to drive digital transformation safely, effectively, and sustainably.'

Currently, Viettel AI has begun training and optimizing Vietnamese Large Language Models (LLMs) to support national digital transformation programs. Concurrently, they are developing multimodal models—integrating text, image, audio, and video—alongside specialized generative AI models for specific industries.

The DGX B200 belongs to the Blackwell generation, the world's leading advanced GPU architecture today, offering efficient processing for complex computational tasks and massive AI models. This platform is expected to be the top choice for training and operating large-scale AI models by global tech giants such as OpenAI, Meta, Amazon, and Tesla. Compared to its predecessor, the B200 delivers 3 times higher training performance and up to 15 times faster inference.

Deployed at the Viettel Hoa Lac Technical Center, Vietnam's first owned B200 supercomputer system will serve as Viettel's core AI infrastructure and long-term strategic computing platform. On this basis, Viettel stands ready to share its computing power with partners, research institutes, and Vietnamese enterprises, contributing to the development of a domestic AI ecosystem that is autonomous, secure, and sustainable.
